My first Neo-Victorian painting

Awhile back when I was trying to capture some feelings of hope, despair and mystery I painted this. It’s from about 5 years back when I was first learning to paint so don’t be too harsh!

The white rosebud and the walking leg and other elements are obviously quite symbolic. Especially the old castle.  I still like how the sky, lake and drapes turned out but the hand is not right. The photo doesn’t show the colour gradations very well especially in the sky, and please ignore the wood grain edge where I photographed it a bit off square. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

The castle.
